Then this ebony bird beguiling my sad fancy into smiling,
By the grave and stern decorum of the countenance it wore,
`Though thy crest be shorn and shaven, thou,’ I said, `art sure no craven.
Ghastly grim and ancient raven wandering from the nightly shore –
Tell me what thy lordly name is on the Night’s Plutonian shore!’
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.’
Edgar Alan Poe
Personally, I’m happy to do an article about the next game, as I love the horror genre and from what I understand, so do they. Prepare yourselves for a journey into the spooky and creepy world of Crypto Cthulhu.

Let’s do a little-little history
In 1982 Atari released Haunted House. Haunted House is one of the earliest and most memorable horror video games. Released in 1982 on the Atari 2600 version, Haunted House challenges you to explore the many rooms of the large, dark mansion of the late Zachery Graves in search of three pieces of an urn. You have nine lives to find them all and escape the house, but they are easy to lose because if you encounter one of the many evil spirits, bats, or tarantulas in the house they will steal life from you. Even the ghost of Mr. Graves himself will seek you out.
We can imagine how many updates the horror game had since Haunted House. For example, we can talk about Maniac Mansion, with a perfect sense of humor and a brilliant point and click, or the famous Silent Hill or Resident Evil.
But we are a website the web3 gaming, and it’s time to see what options we have in this horror genre. Let’s see what the developers of Crypto Cthulhu have to say about their game:
Crypto Cthulhu began as a project of 3 friends, a group of dreamers passionate about the cosmic horror literature of H.P. Lovecraft, Clark Ashton Smith, August Derleth, and numerous classic horror and science fiction authors such as Edgar Allan Poe and Cixin Liu; as well as Tales from the Crypt, Low comics; modern science fiction horror works such as The three-body problem, Blindsight, Metabarons, children of time, All tomorrows.
Lovecraft, Poe, they have me where they want me.

Our team is devoted to the horror genre in all its forms: from literature to movies to comics/graphic novels and, of course, games. We are also gamers who love the social aspect of online gaming, so our main goal will be to build a healthy community of cultists who are interested in the horror genre and build something they love.
Surviving, farming, collecting, fighting, and winning will be the main milestones of their main project, they said. And they told us that they have cool stuff planned that they don’t want to spoil so soon, but you should know that the top priority right now is to get their farm-survival-RPG game up and running as soon as possible.
Our mission is to summon Cthulhu and the Elder Gods to the web3, through content, art, and video games and become the first and largest horror community on the Internet Computer blockchain.

We are facing a pretentious project but it has all my votes, and those of many people. Let’s see a little more about its roadmap:
At the moment our priority is to create an organic community of horror, mystery and cosmic horror lovers. Our main communication channels are DSCVR, Distrikt, Twitter, Discord and Medium, where we constantly feed our audience with stories, art and the progress we have in this path towards building a web3 project.
At Vibrant we had the opportunity to do a giveaway of their NFTs a while back, look at the beautiful and creepy art behind this project.
¿What are the challenges of doing a project like this?
Even with an experienced development team, building on the IC has a lot of programming challenges. Also, the bear market doesn't help at all. Also, I think it is still too early to attract web2 users to the Internet computer.
An interesting task, as we can see, within the ecosystem projects bet on being able to attract people to this blockchain.
Our first step as a project will be to deliver an airdrop of about 2,000 NFT to our DSCVR community in October. Our second step will be to finish a playable MVP demo of our video game, which for the time being we will refer to by the codename “FRM”; and we will close the year with our first sale on the Yumi Marketplace. Finally, the pre-alpha version of the game with a more advanced version and an airdrop for our ‘The Awakening’ holders.
